Little Kitty Care
My name is Zendaya Black and I volunteer to foster cats from shelters in need to help them find their forever homes. I've been a cat person all my life (not to say I don't love all animals). I started this site to help advertise my foster cats' adoptions and keep followers and friends updated on their heath, care, and progress. I got a place of my own and after settling down, I knew I wanted to take on something new but nothing too overwhelming. So I started fostering cats.
I currently have one foster family at this time. You can find their story on the "FOSTER CATS" page. I also have one cat of my own, a fourteen pound short hair tabby named Zyren. He's making it quite hard to write currently. He's having a "GOTTA RUN FROM EACH END OF THE HOUSE AS FAST AS I CAN" spasm. Although I love my Zee Zee with all my heart, and I dread the day he passes, I think that I've decided, after he passes, I want to give all my time to fostering pregnant or nursing queens and their kittens. I dearly wish that I could help neonatal orphaned kittens, and in a way, I have, but I unfortunately do not have the time or resources to care for neonatal kittens without a Queen.
The way that I've helped neonatal kittens is by bringing in Queens who recently labored a litter where the Queen will accept them into the litter and are for them as her own. This happened to me already. I got the inspiration and motivation from Hanna Shaw, also known as the Kitten Lady. Her educational videos on YouTube made me feel confident and understand the cat and shelter world so much better! Find her channel at www.youtube.com/kittenlady and Instagram @kittenxlady. Also her professional page at www.kittenlady.org. There are plenty of foster care Instagramers and YouTubers you can find. A great person who can teach you about can behavior is feline behavioral specialist, Jackson Galaxy, who also has educational vidoes up on YouTube at www.youtube.com/jacksongalaxy.
I'm still quite young and I want to make an impact on the lives of those who need it most and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. My mission is to provide care to foster cats and kittens until they reach either the adoptable age of eight to nine weeks, or until they're at an appropriate weight, age and capability to be adopted into a forever home.
